1. This is what is going on in the cartoon. The first one seams like the parent were a lot stricter back in 1961 and felt like it was the students fault. Now a days people just want to blame the teachers.
2. The responsible party is. The children the kids should be doing they work. It is the kids fault
3. These changes should be considered. because teachers should not be blamed for kids not doing there work
4. The audience is parents or students . This cartoon would appear in newsletters or other type of parent blogs.
5. The message presented here is parents need to teach there children better and focus on there grades .
6. A good education is when u have all A's and B's. I feel that my education is decent
7. There are good & bad teachers. Good teachers pay attention to the kids and know what needs to be done. While bad teachers don't pay attention and don't know how to teach.
8. I have had an amazing teacher who help me pass my classes who help me stay on top of my grades who went out of there way to make sure I passed there class. they made me enjoy coming into class because they were always smiling . I have also had a bad teacher. The bad teacher always yelled at me when I came to class always was unhappy just let her kids fail.
9. In the US we I feel like we focus to much on star we could be focus on stuff we need after high school.
10. The one change I would make is better schooling more technology in schools

1.i think that back then in the 1961 the parents would actually get upset at there child and discipline them but in 2011 it looks like the teacher gets in trouble because of the child's grades or bad actions/grades.

2.the responsible party is the parents from the 1961

3.honestly I think the change is negative because teachers should not get in trouble because of what the child does or doesn't do.

4.i feel like the audience is the parents

5.the message presented here is that parents should be responsible for what there child does or does not do and that they should not blame it on the teachers for there child's behavior.

6.a good education is when the child actually learns.I feel that I am getting a good education

7.yes I do believe that there are good and bad teachers.Bad teachers are the ones who don't bother to teach or give extra help to the students that need extra help to learn the material/subject. good teachers are the ones that actually explain everything in detail so students fully understand what they are learning/doing

8.yes I have had a bad teacher they never did anything almost all the time were they just giving us notes or do nothing.
my good teacher always took care of us and looked out for what we needed always asking if we needed help or if we needed any further help.

9.i feel that in the US we are getting a better educations compared to other places in the world

10. personally nothing everything is okay in my opinion.

1.in 1961 the teacher was always right now today the kid is always right.
2.the student was responsible for learning in 1961, while today the teachers are responsible for there learning.
3.negitive because today the adults should be on the same side but in reality its the kids and there parents.
4.the public because they need to see that so hey can change that.
5.that the school system has change and the fact that its not helping teaching students.
6.when the student is not having trouble n working on assignment's
7.yes there are if they hardly teach you anything then they are bad teachers because there not doing there job.
8.i have teachers straight out did not give us work unless they had a superintendent there, and teachers that gave homework out every night.
9.no not really because I know other schools that are teaching stuff early in the year that is hard.
10. first off I would change a lot like the fact u can listen to music in halls

Unknown said...

1.parents are taking sides in both pictures.
2.is the parents for not helping the kid.
3.negative the teacher should know to teach a class.
4.the students and teachers and the students find it funny.
5.the parents always takes side.
6.when the teachers make the work fun, I feel that work now and days are harder and more boring.
7.good teachers go to you and help you and make it fun but bad teachers make you do work when you don't know it an they don't help you when u ask for help.
8.i did have a cool teacher that let me hear my music when I was working because it helped me focus more on it, she made me feel good in that class and I also had a bad teacher who didn't care much for us like she wouldn't help us when we asked the only thing she would say is "well you should have paid attention".
9. no and yes because we have laptops but also no because we don't have fun and cool teachers now and days.
10.the one thing that I would change is the rules of the school like kids should be able to listen to there music when they work because it helps a lot.

(1) in the first panel the teachers are getting on to the student for his grades, In panel two the parents are getting mad at the teachers for giving the child bad grades.
(2) in 1961 the parents are responsible and in the 2011 picture the teacher was responsible for his learning.
(3) I think the artist thinks that it has gotten worse because the students just have to tell there parents and they will get good grades, but in 1961 the student got punished for his grades/marks. I know the kid got punished in 1961 because of his face expression and in 2011 he was happy because of his face.
(4) I think this little cartoon would be displayed in a documentary about school getting worse or in a little magazine making a joke about it.
(5) that kids today get treated better then they did in the 90's.
(6) a good education to me would be if students in class would be under control and the teacher not getting interrupted every 2 seconds. I am getting a good education, I just need more help and 1 0n 1 time with some of my teachers.
(7) I do believe there are bad and good teachers, a good teacher to me is one who can keep the class under control and not try and be all cool with the students and let them do what ever they want. A bad teacher is someone who lets the class get out of hand and he/she lets the class be rude or disrespectful to the him/her.
(8) I have not had any good teachers this year, my one bad teacher is my Spanish, he/she lets the class get out of hand and the students who are being rude and disrespectful don't get punished and he/she never kicks them out of class.
(9) I believe my school is giving good education because they try there hardest to give us all computers to make out work easier.
(10) give us better desk, because all of the old ones are falling apart.

7.yes I do think that is bad teachers that don't teach the kids what they have to learn and by that I mean not doing their jobs.

8.yes I think I have good teachers this yuear but sometimes it just depends on the type of student you are .

9. yea I think we have a good opertunity of a good education here in the U.S.

1. in the cartoon back in the 1961 kids used to get into trouble for bad grades or for getting in trouble but now a day whenever a student gets in trouble or has bad grades parents see it as the teachers fault for not teaching better.

2. in the 1960s it was the student who was responsible but in 2011 its seen as the teachers responsibility for the student failing.

3. the cartoon is seen as a negative post, we know this because it shows how the education system has changed and how the trust between the teacher, student and parent are different.

4. the audience for this is the parents to show how things have changed.

5.the artist of the cartoon is expressing how the change of belief from believing the teacher to the student because of recent belief that teachers are not teacher like they should anymore.

6. I would define a good education as getting a education where u don't struggle with what your learning.

7.i believe there are good and bad teachers some are in it for the students while some just hate there job and just do it for the money. what makes a teacher good is she actually tries to do everything they can to help, while a bad teacher just thinks they don't listen or there just a bad student.

8. yes I have had a really good teacher before they would help me personally whenever I didn't know something and take it slow for me to understand, yes ive also had a bad teacher where she we accuse me of things I didn't do and tried to fail me even though my grades were high.

9.no I believe that there are other school that have better education but that depends on your state and where you are located.

10. I would change the how teacher would teach math and slow down the lessons a bit for everyone to understand.

1.) This cartoon is based on 2 generations. In 1961, the student was responsible for his or her bad grades. Now in the present, the teacher is responsible for the bad grades of his or her students. Sometimes... the teacher can be responsible has his/her teaching skills might not be up to par to the students knowledge.

2.) Both the student and the teacher are responsible to have a student-teachers relationship for a good learning environment. This has not change since then.

3.) Negative, in the 2011 drawing, the parents seem far more stress than then then the 1961 parents that seem to be taking this in a nice calm matter. There is also drawings of some sort on the desk, might be showing sings of students just playing around.

4.) We students and parents are the audience of this cartoon. This would probably be in a format of history.

5.) Things really have change in the past from now. Students tried harder and needed to put more effort in passing as the internet was still not the "thing" back then. Now, students get lazy for the smallest things and blame the teacher for their bad grades.

6.) I would define a good education by teachers caring and trying to make learning fun as much as possible, and go by the phase that the students learn instead of being in a rush. So, am I getting a good education? more yes than no.... to be honest.

7.) I define a teacher by how they act, treat us, fairness, and teaching skills. I have indeed had a bad teacher, he/she got up on me for no reason and said some things that just weren't true about me. I was not the only one who disliked him/her, as next year that teacher was no longer there. Guess the complains where a thing... or just retirement.

8.) I indeed had good teachers.... also bad ones as I mentioned in answer 7.

9.) I actually don't, there is an actual country with better education. I had to do research in this in 6th grade, in other words... these are facts that we don't give the best education based on learning, grades, etc.

10.) If I could change the education system, I would make it harder to be a teacher. As we need good teachers and not just teachers that barely pass there lesson careers.

1.) In the cartoon panel it shows that in 1961 that the education was good and the parents actually cared about there child's grades and it shows that in 2011 the education is horrible and so the parents are getting mad at the teacher, because maybe she doesn't teach.

2.)In the 1961 it is the children's job for their own learning, and in 2011 the teacher is responsible for the child's learning.

3.)Based on the cartoon I believe cartoon artist believes that the change is negative. I know this because it is showing that the teacher is under stress because of the parents yelling at her.

4.) The audience for this cartoon is directed toward the teachers, students, and parents, this would be at a school rally.

5.) The overall message that the cartoonist is giving out is how the education is changing.

6.)A good education to me is when the teacher teaches you and gives you homework every night for practice and go over the review with you like 3 days before the test.

7.) Yes, there are good and bad teachers. What makes a good teacher is when they give you something to do during the class period or tech you what you need to learn. A bad teacher is a teacher who stays at his/her desk and gives you work but doesn't help you when your help is needed.

8.) Yes every year almost all my teachers are good and well organized and always helped me pass my classes. And I have also had bad teachers but there was this one teacher that had no control over his/her class and got mad one day and started throwing things and clapping in the hallway and we didn't learn anything in that class.

9.) Yes, I do believe we have better education then some of the schools, we don't have the best education but some school don't have teachers who are motivated like the ones here.

10.) If I could change one thing about my education is going back to all pre-ap classes because it makes you think.

1.in 1961 the parents seem more strict. but in 2011 the parents seem more mad at the teacher rather than the kid
2.in 1961 it seemed like it was the teachers responsibility. and in 2011 it looked like it was the parents responsibility
3.negative because today the adults should be on the same side but really its the kids and there parents.
4. students and teachers the students might also find it amusing
5.that life right now is way different then it was back then
6. A good education is when u have all A's. I feel that my education could be way better
7.good teachers go to you and help you and make it fun but, bad teachers make you do work when you don't know it an they don't help you when u ask for help. Also bad teachers need to be more descriptive
8.yes I have all good teachers because they are descriptive in what they are teaching us and are actually offering us help rather than making us ask for it.
9.yes because in other parts of the world other kids don't have an education or even know what and education even is and we can learn and practice what ever we want.
10.i would change the amount of time that I study rather than focusing on my free time

1. In the 1961 cartoon, it shows the student that got bad grades and the parents are angry maybe because they think the student does not pay attention. On the 2011 cartoon, it shows the parents that are angry at the teacher maybe because they think the teacher is not teaching them well.
2. Back in 1961, the parents were responsible for their child's education because it shows the parents yelling at their son. In 2011, the teacher is responsible because it shows the parents yelling at the teacher.
3. The cartoon artist believe this change is negative because the parents have to make sure their child is at school, the parents also have to make sure the kid is getting good grades and focusing on school. The teacher provides you with the education but the teacher doesn't have time to babysit the other students.
4. Maybe the parents are the audience for this cartoon. It should get publicated on newspaper because most of the parents look at newspaper and it should say that they have to realize that they have to be responsible for their child's education.
5. The artist is expressing that the parents should be in charge for their child learning not the teacher because the teacher only provides education but the parents have to make sure their kid is paying attention.
6. I think good education means actually learning something. I fell that I am getting an alright education because teacher only write down stuff so kids can copy and I barely learn stuff.
7. I think there are both bad and good teachers because a bad teacher rushes and only writes notes so kids can copy meanwhile a good teacher takes her time and explains thing very well so kids can actually learn.
8. I had gotten good teachers and bad teacher, some of my teachers were good because I actually learned stuff when they teached, bad teachers that I had were some that rushed and some that only made us take notes without explaining.
9. I think I am receiving better education because Texas spends a lot of money on textbooks and make us go to school a little bit more than some other places.
10. If I could change something about my education, it would be learning stuff I don't know because I get teached stuff I know already, also I would change the time you have to be at school and time we leave school.

1.the situation of the article is showing how the schools has changed in the last 50years and how it use to be the kids got all the blame and now it how they parents get mad at the teachers.
2. the students use to be the one that had to learn all the work and get good grades back in 1961 and in 2011 it use to be where if the students didn't get the work the teachers get in trouble.
3.The airtest is not with the fact that the school and parnets have changed there ways of doing stuff just because of how they are blameing the teachers for not teaching the students right when it is really the student is not paying attention or is not smart.
4.the audience of this cartoon is an adults just for is shows how the kids could be acting up and it is not the teachers fault that the teacher is giving the kid what grades the kid deserves
5. That the world now days and why the teacher is getting the blame for something that is not her fault.
6.A good education is when u are not just getting thaught how to do the math problems or science it is also when u can get it showed to you and u get helped with the struggles that u have and I think I have a good education just because of the technology now days.
7. yes there are bad teachers and there are some good teachers the bad teachers are the teachers that just show u how to do the work and then just put a paper in front of your face and u don't know how to do it when u just learned how to do the work and the good teachers are the ones that show u how to do the work and go through a packet or what ever with u and will help u indivisly.
8.yes I have had a good teacher and they where helping me with the parts that I needed help with and showed me ways to go around the things that I was having stuggles with and how to be better at what we where doing and I have had a bad teacher they use to just show us the notes and then would put a piece of paper in front of us. 9. I don't belive we are receving the best education that we could get ust because there are other schools that get better education then us but the reason they are getting a better education then us is because they have a higher budget then are school does.
10.The length of how long we get to learn the lesson and then have to take the test after and why it is so short of a lesson and then have to take the test a day or 2 after we just learned a lesion.

1.This is what is going on in the cartoon. In the cartoon it looks like in 1961, the parents are mad at the kid because he probably has bad grades, but in 2011 the parents are mad at the teachers.
2.The responsible party would be in 1961, that the kids would be getting in trouble from what their grades would be, but in 2011 the teacher gets blamed for the kids grades.
3.This changes should be considered negative because the teachers shouldn't be blamed for their kids grades, the kids should be punished.
4.The audience is the teachers and students. This cartoon would appear probably in blogs such as this blog were in right now.
5.The message presented here is that teachers shouldn't be blamed for their kids grades, it should be the student who should be paying attention and get punished.
6.A good education for me is to have a good energetic teacher, because I always find them interesting and when they're interesting I pay more attention in class. So far I am having a good education.
7.Yes, I do believe it because last year some of my teachers were so boring and would I always fall asleep, but when they're energetic its interesting so I start to pay more attention to the teacher.
8.I had good teachers back then but some were bad to. I had a teacher that would always get in everyone's case even though you are doing your work and not dong anything bad.
9.Yes I am receiving good education in us and I should n=be considered lucky because most kids in an other nation, they don't even receive an education, they're mostly worried to survive.
10.Teachers to be more interesting when teaching.

1. In 1961, the parents are mad at the student for the marks while the teacher holds her head high, but however, in 2011, the parents are mad at the teacher for their kid's grades while the kid puffs out his chest.
2. 1961, kids were responsible for their grades, but everything changed to where the teacher is responsible for the child's grade.
3. The artist believes this change to be negative, because if a kid makes bad marks today, then they would make up the excuse "well my teacher didn't tell me the right stuff". They blame their bad grades on the teacher.
4. The audience is either parents, teachers, or even kids themselves. This would probably show up in the newspaper and/or the internet.
5. The artist is expressing that the education system has changed over the last fifty years.
6.I would define a good education by actually learning something that I will need later on in life and yes, I do believe I am receiving a good education because I have learned so much that I haven't learned before.
7. I do believe that there are naturally good teacher and naturally bad teachers. And what makes them good or bad is how they teach their curriculum.
8. I had a math teacher once who treated the entire class like we were in kindergarten. She was a "bad" teacher because she never really taught us anything and ended up just giving us all of the answers. I did have a good teacher, who was my Forensics teacher, and she was a good teacher because she continuously kept the class involved with the curriculum.
9. I do believe I am receiving a better education than some students in the nation because some kids in this country can't even go to school or get little to no education.
10. I would change teachers that give boring lessons and constantly have backward attitudes towards their classes.

1. In the cartoon panels the first one shows how parents were more strict on there teacher than in 1961.
2. In 1961 the student was responsible in 1961 and in 2011 the teacher was responsible.
3.he thinks it was a negative change based on the 2011's characters hair and posture.
4.the cartoon would most likely appear in a newspaper or short.
5. I think the message was that sometimes change isn't always good.
6. A good education is cooperation between a student and a teacher not just one or the other.
7. I do believe that there are good and bad teachers based on todays corrupt society.
8. I've had several rude/bad/rebellious teachers but the two I disliked the most were two of my worst one called me out in class for the color of my skin and said that id probably be a slave owner and the other became enraged on an opinion of mine in a conversation she was not included in(it was also a peaceful conversation before she interred it)
9. Considering some nations do not even have schools I do consider this a very good and scholarly education but do not agree on some things that they teach and boundaries that they also have.
10. I would let teens(kids or not) express themselves the way that they want as long as it doesn't involve an altercation because some kids need to learn by themselves.

1. Both the panels look like the people are mad but the first one there mad at the kid and the second one there mad at the teacher.
2. The kid was responsible in the first one and the second one the teacher was responsible for the kids learning.
3.Positive because it was the kids fault in the first one and now its the teachers fault.
4.The audience is the teacher and the parents and the kid the first one the audience is the teacher and in the second one the audience is the kid.
5.The overall message is to show to be responsible student wise and teacher wise.
6.A good education is like getting a good teacher to me that knows how to explain stuff and teachers you stuff.
7.Yes I believe that there are good teachers good teacher answers questions you have and if you have trouble they will help you or if you made a bad grade an they know you tried your hardest they will try to let you make It up a bad teacher is a teacher who just sits at there desk and doesn't care or just hands you a paper expecting you know how to do it.
8. I have not had a bad teacher only good teachers the only thing is some teachers might talk a little to fast but they will most likely go over whatever there teaching again if I just ask.
9. Yes there could be a lot worse schools than this . this is a pretty decent school for learning and getting education.
10. honestly im not sure .

1) In the cartoon panel it is explaining the way schools changed. In 1961 the teacher was always right so the parents would get mad at the child. In 2011 the child is always right and if the kid wasn't doing good in school then the teacher didn't do her job right.
2) In 1961 the student was responsible for their own learning and grades. Now in 2011 the teacher was responsible for the students learning
3) It might be a positive because in the 1961 picture it is dark colors, and in the 2011 picture it is bright and colorful.
4) The audience is the student because it goes directly from the childs perspective.
5) The overall message in the pictures is that the parents are going to start believing more in the child then the teacher. and that the education system has changed.
6) I believe I am getting a good education because most people around the world don't get any at all and for me to have the opertunity to be able to have education is amazing as it is.
7) I do belive that there are some good and band teachers out there. Good teachers make sure everyone is on tract and never gets left behind, cause you never know the child personaly on how they learn. Bad teachers are teachers that don't care if your fail or not, and just let you copy homework instead of actually teaching you how to do it, and also by just giving you the answers to everything including test.
8) This one teacher last year is my favorite teacher only because she understood that people have different paces and learn techniqs I struggled with math all my life, but when she was my teacher I was making A's and I actually understood math for once. I have a bad teacher as of right now this school year. All my geomarty teacher does in talk extrimly fast and only gives people a tiny bit of time to write something down. If we ask to go to the restroom instead of walking to her desk she will give you call home and she will give you a detention.
